This got me thinking (and drawing) with one thing leading to another. I think i have come to the conclusion that its all the stereotypical things that make up "The Best of British". The food we eat, the liquids we consume, the table cloths used in cafes, the bands, culture, society even class. A good way, i think, of looking at it is by using the perspective of someone from another country such as America. In America (usually seen in programmes and movies) their stereotypical view of us is eccentric, Tea drinking, cucumber sandwich eating, Ra-Ra-Toff-Toff-Gauff-Gauff, cricket playing, posh speaking people...a frustrating image to some but when thinking about it, is this not something to be reknowned for and proud of instead of this upcoming image of the binge drinking brit?
I feel eccentricity is something to be proud of. Something we should embrace and promote.
But thats just my view. I would love to hear from people what they think so i could illustrate for my work like the ones below
